Note: This article is referring to the older version of the Mac DUC, version 3.0 to v3.9. If you are using the newer version of the Mac DUC, V4+, please refer to this guide.
In order to completely remove the Mac version of the DUC you will need to complete the following steps. By doing this you are removing the program and the daemon startup processes.
To start, simply drag the DUC application from the “Applications” folder and place it in the trash. Next, reboot the machine. Once the machine has rebooted, the program should be completely removed.
If you ran the service as a daemon you will want to follow the steps below.
To remove the daemon services you will need to open a Terminal window. To open a Terminal window, type “Terminal” into Spotlight located at the top right hand corner of your screen.
Once your Terminal window is open you will need to type the following command into the window:
sudo rm /usr/local/bin/noip2 |
After typing the command it will prompt you for your machine’s administrative password, enter the password and press “Return” on the keyboard.
You will then need to type the following command:
sudo rm /usr/local/bin/noip2-boot.sh |
After typing the command it will prompt you for your machine’s administrative password, enter the password and press “Return” on the keyboard.
Finally, reboot the machine to finish the process.
