Generating a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) using iPlanet 4.1 Web Servers

Please note, as of January 2011, all CSR’s must be generated with a key length of 2048 and using the SHA256 hash algorithm
Creating a CSR:

  1. Sign onto the Web server and select the server to manage.
  2. Select the “Security” tab and then “Request a Certificate”.
  3. Complete the required boxes and click “OK”.
  4. An email is then sent to the email address specified containing your CSR.
  5. The CSR will be required when ordering your certificate.

You can also use OpenSSL instead.  The CSR creation doesn’t need to be done on the server itself.
